DRESS

day one

Wednesday 27th

Morning coat / jacket&tie

pre 5pm

A morning coat is a timeless piece of traditional English wedding attire. If you own one, or have easy access to one, we would love to see it brought out of winter hibernation for the occasion. No top hats required!

If you do not own a morning coat, there is no need to panic. A dark-toned suit (other than black), paired with a tie and black shoes, will fit the dress code perfectly.

For ladies, we suggest full-length or maxi dresses in darker tones to complement the theme. If you wish to change into a more serious evening gown later in the day, there will be time between the champagne reception and the wedding breakfast to do so. Equally, If you wish to wear your evening dress, please do not feel any pressure to change throughout the day. No hats.

5pm onwards

Black Tie

We absolutely love an excuse for some serious black-tie glamour.

For gentlemen, we encourage self-tied bow ties, with plenty of room to have fun with colours, textures, and patterns. Pair these with a traditional dinner jacket, perhaps even in velvet, a crisp white shirt, and beautifully polished black shoes. National dress and military mess dress are also warmly encouraged for those who wish to wear them.

For ladies, please feel free to blur the lines between black tie and white tie. Whether you choose an elegant ankle-length gown or a full ballgown, the more theatrical the better. Have fun with accessories and embrace the opportunity to dress up.

We would love to see guests gravitate towards rich, winter-inspired tones. Deep reds, sapphire blues, emerald greens, and touches of gold would all fit the mood beautifully.

day two

Thursday 28th

Highland disco

Imagine the morning after a truly excellent party. Your hair is not quite where you left it, your white shirt from the night before is still perfectly serviceable, and everything feels just a touch gloriously undone. This is your chance to lean into the art of looking elegantly dishevelled.

This is your chance to go wild. Think alpine extravaganza, Nordic attitude, Oxfordshire shooting trip, Kentucky country - whatever twist you want to bring. We want the boldest, craziest version of you. Add in elements of disheveled Black-Tie. Voila!
